The Sidecar cocktail is thought to have been created by an American army captain in Paris during World War I. It was named after the motorcycle sidecar that the captain used.
8 oz cognac or brandy
4 oz cointreau or triple sec
4 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
Lemon twists, for garnish
Add ice to a pitcher or large cocktail shaker.
Add the above ingredients and stir well.
Strain into chilled martini glasses.
Makes 4 drinks
